A inch or two of styrofoam

Yesterday left a inch or two of Styrofoam, skis pretty well and the hard layer underneath is not ice. Beauty day, blue sky no wind. Coming soon from Brian; Total snowfall by Friday morning reports looks to be around 6-12 inches at lake level on the East side of the basin, 10-16 inches on the West side, 12-18 inches on the mountains in the basin and 16-23 inches West side along the crest (that is Sugar Bowl, oh yeah).

5 inches on a hard layer

We got 5 inches of the predicted 8-10 (see Tahoe Daily Snow). Lots of naysayers out there saying, “so did you take two runs and go home”.  Saturday was such a fine day, 19 degrees  and clear, I thought we would walk up North of Bradley Hut and see what we could see. At 8500 ft we skied NW, Chewbacca and I had the only tracks at the time, 5 inches of blower on a hard layer but not bullet [...]
